First Visit

What To Expect at Your Initial Orthodontist Consultation

Welcome to Forrest Orthodontics! Upon arrival, please inform our receptionist so we can warmly welcome you to our office.

Dr. Forrest’s Examination and Key Objectives

During your first visit, Dr. Thomas Forrest will conduct a comprehensive orthodontic examination with the following key objectives:

  • Identify any existing dental issues and their implications.
  • Recommend the optimal timing to begin treatment.
  • Discuss the most suitable orthodontic treatment options tailored to your needs.
  • Provide clarity on the anticipated duration of treatment.
  • Explain the financial aspects, including treatment costs and available payment options.
  • By focusing on these objectives, our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of your treatment plan while ensuring your comfort and confidence throughout your orthodontic experience.

Diagnostic Records

If orthodontic treatment is recommended, we’ll schedule an appointment for Diagnostic Records. These records may include:

  1. Study models of your teeth for detailed analysis.
  2. Panoramic and cephalogram radiographs and tracings to assess dental alignment and bone structure.
  3. Dr. Forrest will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of these records to formulate the best treatment strategy for you.

Treatment Costs and Payment Options

The cost of treatment varies depending on the complexity of your case. During your initial examination, our treatment coordinator will discuss:

  • Fees are associated with diagnostic procedures and treatment options.
  • Flexible payment plans designed to fit your budget.
  • Acceptance of assignment from most insurance plans to reduce out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Information on additional costs that may arise due to appliance replacement or specific treatment needs.

Your Investment Includes:

  • Orthodontic records: detailed X-rays, study models, and personalized growth analysis.
  • Active treatment fees: comprehensive coverage for braces or Invisalign, including all office visits and procedures. Our durable appliances should last throughout treatment, barring unusual circumstances that require replacement, for which additional fees may apply.
  • One set of final retainers is provided upon completing comprehensive treatment (Phase II). Replacement retainers due to loss or damage may incur additional charges.

What Doesn’t My Investment Include?

  • Services are provided at other dental offices not affiliated with our practice.
  • Additional fees resulting from Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) complications, accidents, or injuries during treatment that require orthodontic adjustments or orthognathic surgery.

Assignment of Benefits

For your convenience, we accept the assignment of benefits from most insurance plans. If direct assignment isn’t feasible, we’ll assist in filing claims so you can be reimbursed directly. Notify us promptly of any changes to your insurance coverage to facilitate accurate billing adjustments.
